Prayer for US

Jeremiah 33:6

Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, I will heal them; I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.

Jeremiah received this word from the Lord while he was being held in the court of the guard. He told the king they would be hauled off to Babylon. The king didn’t want to hear it so he threw Jeremiah in jail.

God promises to bring healing and restoration, health and a sound mind. He promises to heal the hurts and defects of nations and individuals.

He further promises to reveal Himself and make Himself known in an abundance of contentment with friendship with God. We know God’s truth by divine instruction through true doctrine found in the Bible.

Would this not be a great scripture to pray for our nation? We have gone very far from the knowledge of the one true God. We desperately need His healing and restoration.

Father God, what You do for one,
You’ll do for all.
We bow before You today pleading
for Your merciful hand to bring us
and our nation back into right relationship
with You, that You might receive
the praise, honor, and glory
for this miraculous turnaround.

Wrestling with the Devil

I Peter 5:8
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

In any wrestling match, there are useful techniques in order to win over your opponent. Our Coach has some important lessons here.

To be “sober” means “to be calm and collected in spirit.” We are to be watchful and discreet, caution and prudent. This carries no connotation to be fearful. We are to be cautiously active because our adversary, the accuser, who slanders us makes use of any opportunity.

Our enemy offers much, can deliver little, and requires all. His desire is to drink us down, swallow us whole; to utterly destroy us.

But God is greater. He has overcome our ultimate enemy—death. With God for us, how can the enemy prosper against us?

Father God, I rejoice that we are Yours
and You are ours.
That nothing is more powerful than You
and that You promise never to leave us
or forsake us.
Hallelujah! Together we win!

Do Not Fear

Isaiah 41:3

For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, “Do not fear, I will help you.”

Have you ever been faced with a seemingly impossible task? You wonder how this could possibly turn out for the good. As far as you’re concerned you are standing at the bottom of Mt. Everest with the assigned task of climbing to the top in a week. You have no training. No equipment. No possibility of meeting those needs.

Good news. The One True God—the One who spoke everything into being is holding tightly to your right hand. He speaks to you and says, “Do not be afraid. I, the Almighty God will help and support you. I will speak to you and show you the way. Together we will succeed. Let’s go.”

How can you refuse an offer like that?

Almighty God, with You at my side,
I take the first steps toward this task.
Of myself, I can do nothing,
but with You all things are possible.
Thank You that with Your kind guidance,
strength, and direction, I will successfully
climb the mountain that looms before me
so that You might be glorified.
