Jesus' Return

John 14:3

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also,”

In the Jewish custom of Jesus’ day, a young man asked for his love’s hand in marriage. If she agreed, the young man left to prepare a home for them.

When his father inspected the home and deemed it finished, then and only then, could the young man come to claim his bride for their wedding. After their marriage he would take her to the home he had prepared for her.

In the Bible, the true believers, the church, are referred to as the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25 and Revelation 21:9 and Revelation 19:4).

Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God, has been preparing a place for His bride for 2,000 years. When Father God says it’s ready, Jesus will come for us, His bride.

Are you ready for His return?

Lord Jesus, I pray we will be ready
when You return to receive us unto Yourself.
May we be found to be without spot or wrinkle,
appropriately adorned for You, our Groom.

As a side note, I’ve published a new 366 day devotional book entitled Looking Deeper. It’s available in paperback and e-reader. Check it out here for paperback and here for eReader version Looking_Deeper_Cover_for_Kindle

Jesus' Return

by

Galatians 1:4 “Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us out of this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father.”

As the day of Jesus’ appearing in the sky draws nearer, we see a more definable difference in those who truly have Jesus as their Lord, and those who don’t.

For those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus, there is special protection in this scripture even in calamity and a promise of deliverance in the future to meet with Jesus in the air and to ever be with Him in eternity (I Thessalonians 4:17).

This is God’s will for each of us, to be with Him and enjoy Him forever.

Will you receive His sacrifice for yourself?

Prayer:
I rejoice there is a heaven to have
because You offered Yourself in our place.
